Characteristics of using ozone disinfection for swimming pools

The swimming pool should use a counter current circulating water distribution method. In this case, the ozone rich influent can quickly mix with the pool water without the need to add other chemical agents such as chlorine, flocculants, pH regulators, etc. In practical operation, only swimming pool managers can truly experience the other advantages brought by the counter current water distribution method, such as simple removal of floating objects on the water surface, water and energy conservation, and small cleaning workload of the pool.
When using ozone disinfection for swimming pool water, residual ozone should not be removed and should not reach a concentration that is harmful to humans.
When using a counter current circulation without removing ozone, if the pool water can circulate according to the standard and the ozone dosage is 0.5mg/l under normal passenger flow, the disinfection requirements can be satisfied, but the design should consider leaving a margin.
An ORP controller can be used to monitor the ozone concentration in the water. When the ozone concentration in the return water of the pool is too high (greater than 0.10ppm), the ozone generator can be turned off to prevent the ozone concentration in the air from exceeding the standard (0.1ppm).
Filtration plays a decisive role in water quality. When the particle size of the filter material is between 0.45-0.8mm, if the thickness of the filter layer (excluding the thickness of the supporting layer) can reach 900mm, the amount of ozone added can be reduced. Otherwise, adding more ozone cannot ensure water quality.
If chlorine preparations need to be added, the disinfection requirements can be satisfied when the residual chlorine reaches 0.1ppm.
