How to handle medical equipment scientifically

In today's rapidly developing scientific skills, medical services not only rely on the common sense, experience, and ideological judgment of medical personnel, but also rely to a large extent on leading and necessary diagnostic and therapeutic tools. In order to improve the quality of medical care, the amount of fixed assets occupied by instruments and equipment in major hospitals is increasing. Therefore, the handling of medical equipment has gradually become an important component of hospital modernization.
Medical equipment processing is to provide the most appropriate skills and equipment for medical, scientific research, and teaching operations, fully utilize the role of instruments and equipment, establish medical, scientific research, and teaching operations on the basis of outstanding material skills, and achieve maximum social and economic benefits. It is divided into the process of instrument purchase and application. After several years of homework, I believe that in the process of handling, attention should be paid to the following points:
1. Take the request form seriously
The procurement of medical equipment is determined based on the principle of "leading in skills, reasonable in economy, and applicable in function" while satisfying social needs. Before purchasing the instrument, the first step is for the instrument application department to fill out the application form and submit it to the equipment department for review at the hospital affairs meeting. The request form approved for purchase shall be transferred to the designated person in charge of acquisition in the Equipment Department for safekeeping; Unapproved requests should be returned to the requesting department for a clear response. After purchasing the equipment, the purchasing personnel should hand over the request for additional equipment to the archive handling personnel for safekeeping, as part of the archive data.
2. Do a good job in instrument inspection and requisition operations
We handle the equipment usage from the arrival of the equipment to the cancellation of the requirements. This is done to ensure the safety of the equipment, including accuracy in quantity and integrity in quality, in order to fully uphold its practical value; The second is to improve the utilization rate of equipment, fully leverage its medical role, and pursue more social and economic benefits. The handling of instrument inspection and requisition is the primary task of this process.
3. Supervision and handling of instrument utilization rate
The handling of the utilization rate of instruments and equipment is an important task in the handling of instrument and equipment utilization, and an important goal in evaluating the quality of instrument and equipment handling. In the "Grade III" inspection of hospitals, there is a moderately strict demand for instrument utilization rate (i.e. requiring each device to work for more than 30 hours per week). Improving the utilization rate of instruments and equipment is a powerful way to fully tap into the value of equipment utilization, reduce the proportion of equipment capital occupation, and achieve better economic benefits. While using valuable instruments in our department, we also obtain an equipment utilization rate survey form, which is filled out by the users. The equipment department regularly collects and conducts research, rewarding excellence and punishing inferiority. This can improve the utilization rate of the instrument and extend the service life of the equipment. Furthermore, this approach can promptly identify issues and provide guidance for leaders in selecting, scrapping, and adjusting equipment.
4. Regular inspection of equipment
We need to inspect all medical equipment in the hospital every two years to eliminate discrepancies and improve the utilization rate of instruments. Recently, we have discovered many problems in the process of inspecting medical equipment in hospitals. Some instruments that do not need to be used for years, whether it is natural lifespan, economic lifespan, or skill lifespan, should be completed without being invalidated; Some instruments are reported as damaged but not accounted for; Some departments agree to adjust instruments on their own, but without going through the equipment department and completing the necessary procedures; Some departments collect instruments and then put them away without using them, resulting in forgetting or losing them over time; Some departments send out instruments for external repair without authorization, but they haven't been repaired for a long time. During the verification process, on one hand, we prompted the department to handle the procedures, and on the other hand, we urged the department to make full use of the existing instruments and equipment. The department understood the importance and scientificity of instrument processing.
